get long layers. they make your hair look thinner.

I have very thick brown hair too. Part of it is curly, another straight, and most of it is wavy. I get my hair cut short (mid neck-length) and I get lots of layers all the way around. Throw a little mousse on it and it looks super-cute.
I got some of the worst haircuts ever...people who just don't get your hair. I found a hair dresser who has thick, brown, unruly hair like mine. She is a little spendy, but she does a fantastic job. Don't trust anyone with thin hair or with a haircut that you think is bad. Look for a dresser with hair like yours and you totally up your chances of getting a great cut.
PS- If they don't get the razor out...the cut is going to suck.

I also have long thick brown hair, I would just get layers and have it straighten, and maybe u should change your hair color to, but I wouldn't cut the length(again) if you dye u hair you can change it back in about week and half

yeah long layers and i'm sure she'll thin it out for you on the ends.. you could also get a flat iron. I used to have really poofy hair and now it almos goes flat by itself when i blowdry it but I can still wear it curly by gelling it.. love it.

Keep it long enough to just curl under naturally, which may be just below inside your shoulders. If it is too curly to naturally fall, and curl under, than get it shoulder length.
You may want a few layers, because it is really thick. The longer layers in the back are nice, and ask they shape the hair to your face in shorter layers.
I have very thick hair, and went to a professional and got layers and was very pleased. The next time, with a different stylist, I wasn't so pleased, and wished I did ask her for the longer layers, and thinning shears. I felt as though I'd walked off a mediocre assembly line. Don't let this happen, pay attention. Tell her the things you want, and the things you don't want. Get an older hairstylist, someone experienced, whom will listen, and has the experience so you will be pleased.

Get a bunch of layers in your haiir. and kinda get the layers thing at the front kinda like the side bangs thing like everybody has these daysz. it makes your hair look thinner and makes iit look real guud. :D

you can make it short or you can color it a different color like red or blond or even black

I have super thick hair and i always get it thinned just to make my head feel lighter and you can always add layers or side bang to make a different look.

i worry a little about the "thinning shears". it left a look of flyaway ends on my girl but used sparingly its probably ok if meant to blend in with a certain cut. didnt look well on long hair. try to find a picture of what you want for the stylist. i think the layering is a great idea. you can decide to only put layers in about 3 inches up from the bottom of the length of your hair. that will help with "thinning" it out. ask stylist to show you how to style your new haircut cuz these days they seem to cut it then send you out the door! we have to be able to style it at home, so just ask~good luck!
