How to tame long hair with a perm?

Got perm, told hairdresser I only wanted body wave. My hair is about 2 inches below collarbone. I do not like all the frizz! My hair has blown up! Please advise!

Style it w/ a spray gel when it's wet. Sprits the gel in a light coating over all your hair (you might want to start w/ a leave in light spray conditioner before the gel, so that you can brush through it before you gel it. Don't brush it after you spray on the gel!!) then scrunch it w/ your fingers. Let it air dry for the best results. Play with it a bit, some people like more gel, some like less. Get some cute hair clips and bobby pins and work on pulling pieces back from the face with them, just cliping them to the side of your head, near the back. The bigest step towards controling friz is conditioner, but don't over condition, it'll make your hair limp and bodyless.

Basicaly, for a curly slightly "wet" look

Shampoo, Cream Rinse, Towel Dry, (Leave in Detangler-If you chose to) Spray Gel, Finger Scrunch, Style, (Set finished style w/ airasol hairspray), Air Dry. (Don't use a blow dryer unless you have a really good diffuser, and don't DON'T brush it once it's dry! Unless you want that poofy hair in a ball around your head look. :D

For a dry soft look

Shampoo, Cream Rinse, Towel Dry, Leave in Detangler, brush out tangles, light spray gel, blow dry (WITH OUT A BRUSH) USING a DIFFUSER. (Using a diffuser, finger scrunch your hair, then flip upside down, or to the side, and instead of shaking the hair dryer back and forth while combing your hair, move the dryer in a kind of up and down motion, gathering the hair in the "bowl" of the diffuser while you move towards the head, then pulling the dryer away. Get the diffuser right up next to your scalp and work it a bit there to get the roots dry.) Then style and set w/ a light spray (again airisol works best) This style is a whole lot softer, and will have more body, but it'll still be controlled.

Enjoy!

go to a beauty supply and buy free ease serum, its pretty good in most cases.

Well I have had a perm before and I know exactly what you mean! The best thing you can do is comb out your hair when it wet (maybe with some detangler?) and put gel in it while it is still wet. Don't blow dry! Another option is to cut your hair shorter so the perm will grow out faster.

I have hair down to my waist and when I got a perm I used biosilk and mixed it in w/ my mousse and it works wonders.

you want to use a curling serum when your hair is wet. Blow dry with a diffuser and use a curly hair shine for after. never use a brush!!
