Should I wear my long hair in a ponytail or loose?

I wear a ponytail sometimes because my hair gets tangled easily, but when I take out the ponytail, my hair isn't "wide"-it's kind of narrow where the ponytail was. What is healthier and better for my hair?

Putting your hair in a ponytail will cause it to break off where the band is. You might try braiding it to keep it out of your face, and then you have some interesting waves afterward when you take it out. Braiding is generally not as tight of a bind as with a ponytail so should be a little easier on your hair. Of course the advantage to having long hair is that you can wear it in many different styles, so enjoy it. Just be careful to condition and use quality products in your daily care, and try not to overdo it with hot irons and dryers. Also, trim the ends regularly to keep it looking nice.

loose.

I guess loose is a tiny bit better for your hair on a microscopic level. You shouldn't worry how "wide" your hair falls, and just do what feels comfortable for you.

My hair goes down to my tush and I use a hair stick to keep it in a bun on top of my head. I hate it when it gets in my face nor do I like to take the time to brush it out when I wear it loose. Personally, there is not healthy solution. Your hair will break no matter what you do to it simply because your are doing it. I have noticed however, when I wear it up in a bun, it doesn't get dirty as fast. It is a personal preference and I think you should do what is comfortable for you in the situation at the time. Good luck!

Loose is definitely best. however if it gets in your face, you just need a fancy small clip or ring comb to keep it in plasce. Elastics are not very good for the hair. They break the hair and they do just wht you said happens to your hair. It keeps the the hair closed up and unattractive. You need to groom your hair at least twice a day and one a week a good wah and condition in your own home (you don't need to go to the hair dresser. Buy a conditioning shampoo. Its

not only the elastic that can cause damage. If you don't take care of the hair it will be flabby and not bouncy as all healthy hair should be.

I think you should do both. It depends on the situation, your mood, where you are going,...etc.

Wearing a ponytail too often can damage and split end your hair where the ponytail sits. Try and vary. Loose hair looks way better in my opinion. But letting it loose is definately healthier for your hair.

Both looks good, but if your doing something axcive i suggest a ponytail. That way it deosn't get tangled so easliy. If your just going to chill with ur frends then wearing it down is porbably better. When it gets "narrow" thats not a bad thing, it might just be that you have the ponytail too tight or that it's been in for a long time. It deosn't mean anything, it happens to me. Wearing your hair in a ponytail deosn't make it "unhealthy" it deosn't affect anything really...

It depends on how long your hair is!
