My cat, domestic long hair?

gets prickly weeds in his hair, he generally doesn't even notice them, when he does he bites at them...could they be dangerous if he swallows them?

Also, completely unrelated i carry him around a lot, is this okay? Friends have said it is weird that i carry him around?

i don't know about edibleness of prickly weeds but when you see them try to get them out ( i know what you mean my cats have got semi-long hair )

and as for carrying kitty round its fine, i often carry mine round, one loves to be in my left arm when i am unpacking the dishwasher, you can see the concentration of his face! and as long as kitty is happy and healthy its all good!

The dread "prickly weed" for animals is the fox-tail which can cause serious damage if ingested.

Dog owners who have had a problem with them learn to recognise them and keep their dogs away from them. You can't do that with your cat.

Unless you know what they look like you had best comb your guy daily when he comes in to remove any "foreign objects" from his coat.

It is a little "unusual" that you carry your cat around as most cats wouldn't allow their persons to do that.

Carry him so his paws are on your shoulder. Or, if he lets you, so he's upside down, legs up, like a baby. This keeps pressure oof the chest. On the should gives a lot of view for some distance and they love to perch in high places.

If you are smart you will keep you cat inside before he easts the wrong leaves or get plant burrs caught in his through. Not to mention killed by dngs, coyotes, fox, owls, other male cats, poidoned, burned or mauled. then there are vehicles that kill, teck and fleas that being parasites and disease. If you care about your cat, keep it inside. Have a walk-about outside if you so wish but don't let the cat run loose. Some day you will regret it.
