the reason why i say this is because all the girls at my school i have alot of hair when i was a newborn i had a full head of hair also my mom told me if i wear my hair down and its hot i will come home lookin like tina turner that makes want to sing proud mary:)

LOL. Tina Turner huh? Well, there is definately a difference between "wide/big hair" and long hair. Have you tried straightening your locks so they flow straight down your back? that's the only way to make wide hair look long -- to straighten the heck out of it.
I personally have very big hair and I find that when I wear it in its' natural, Tina Turner state, people say it makes me look really pretty, younger and like an Earth Goddess (a guy actually called me that once).

if you have really frizzy hair, try using a antifrizz serum like garnier fructis, and straighten it or blowdry with a round brush under your hair to get it straight and smooth . Especially with thick hair. Mine does the same.
