I have the long dark brown thick hair everyone thinks they want because they dont realise how uncontrollable it is, does anyone have any ideas for something different because i always just end up getting layers at the hairdressers. thanks x

Why not get it highlighted? It would totally lighten up your face! If it's long and hard to deal with try shoulder length so it's not as hard to deal with but still long enough to throw into a pony tail.

I got this really cool hairstyle that i really cant explain but its neat...shoulder length with like lots of layers. it sounds like no i dont want it but it actually looks good. just look through some hair magazines and find something. OH and try some color. Usually red and blonde go good in someone with brown hair. well atleast mine does. not your whole hair...just highlights

Suggest you dye it blond and have it cut really short and change your whole look. With it might come a real personality change as befitting a blond person.

I had the same problem and I ended up going all out and getting TONS of layers and then highlighting it a honey/golden brown. It looks really nice. I got bangs too. Bangs look really nice especially on people that have thicker hair. I got high-bangs meaning they took or cut more hair then normal in the front. And if you're REALLY sick of layers, a bob is always sexy too.

i also had long brown hair and got sick of it. i found getting it layered with deep red and blonde streaks then straightened looked great and you wont look boring anymore you,ll look like a new women. go for it try it and if you dont like it, it soon grows out but remember to use heat protection spray when straightening you dont want to damage your hair. good luck and hope you will like your new hair style should you choose it.

go to a hair dresser and make them do highlits for you... it goes well with brown and you can trim it a little, or try perm if you have thick hair its better because you can always put hair gel or mouse and go out!

i have exactly the same problem. evry1 at skool fink it is great but is totally unmanagable. to get shine try the Brilliant Brunette range, and if u have a middle parting get a side one. at the hairdressers ask to get it shaped around ur face and razored then get layers in it. i also had them dye the underneath of my hair a really dark brown- not black, really dark brown. i had this done and evry1 ses its an improvement. try it it will luk nice. if u r bored with the colour don't make a drastic change, dye it dark red, dark purplr, blaxk or a different shade of brown. don't go OTT. it will luk stupid. sum1 i no had it dun n she regrets it.
